Fur Swallow. Take home the bird that announces the arrival of spring.
Description

Details

Swallows typical birds in our villages and towns, which build their nests from mud under the eaves of buildings, bridges, even cliffs. Swallows spend winter in Africa and, therefore, their arrival to Galicia also marks the arrival of spring.

Galician legend states that swallows  ripped the spines from the crown Jesus Christ wore, and that his blood left a red stain that every swallow lead in its neck. They are thus considered protective of houses where they build their nests.

Moreover, their flight was contemplated in order to predict  the wheather, and there are still Galician proverbs which say andoriña que alta voa non teme que chova (if swallow flies high it doesn't fear rain) or andoriñas rente a auga choiva por palla (swallows flying flush rain rain as straw).
